It is raining in bangalore..   [VIEW FULL POST]

Bangalore was one popular town where people settled after retiring. The reason was pretty obvious - the climate. Bangalore is well known for its cool climate and it is more or less an hill station. March - may is the summer and it pretty cold during November to January which is proclaimed winter. By the end of may, there are usually showers drenching the whole city.

But for the past few years, it has been quite hot and it has not rained heavily. Experts tag this to the excessive growing population and pollution in the city. It is more like chennai these days here in bangalore. However it has been raining here for the past two days. Quite strangely , it was burning hot in the afternoon and starting pouring around sunset.

Check out a few snaps i took with my 1.3 Mega pixel camera from Motorola v3i (motorazr). With heavy rain, it flooded the roads in no time. With the traffic, it was getting messy.

A bad day for the REDS   [VIEW FULL POST]

- BARBI SCRIBBLED THIS ON 5/24/2007

It was a very bad for the reds. All the way till the final went shattered when the 2005 champs lost to milan in the 2007 uefa champions league finals.

steven gerrad liverpoolI am a big fan of the Liverpool captain steven gerrad, who played a vital role in the 2005 victory. Liverpool showed one of the best ever comebacks in the finals and gerrad had a great role to play that day. After it came to the penalties, derek played a great role then. Riena was too good too.

There were two controversies. [[continue..]] The first one cost liverpool too dear. Insanghi's goal came off his hand. a goal off a hand? heard of it? Really a bad day for the reds..

The second was the referee called the match 30 seconds earlier. I know i am too optimistic to even hope Liverpool would score in that 30 seconds, still it has happened many a times..

Coming tot he finals twice in three years by itself is a great achievement and Gerrard was one of the crucial men behind this feat.

Pennent was brilliant on the field yet he has to improve a lot, especially in sending the cross.

The last match of the season (waiting for la liga to end too..), it is going to be boring for another two months without football. I have never missed premiership weekends and i have been watching more than five hours of live matches every week.

With new many teams qualifying for the next years' champions league, it is going to be just more excitement!!

my first DOSAI   [VIEW FULL POST]

- BARBI SCRIBBLED THIS ON 5/01/2007

At last, i spent my first few minutes inside the kitchen and the first ever time i really made something. I made the first dosai and surprisingly it was too easy.

1. Put the black color "kal" on the stove and sprinkle or apply a few drops of oil.
2. Turn on the gas
3. Wait till the oil gets heated and mild vapors start arising out of the kal.
4. Pour a karandi of dosa mavu on the kal and immediately spread it starting from the center. [[continue the dosa tour..]]
5. See to that the dosa is spread evenly to a considerable size (, preferably round) and that no where the thickness exceeds a limit. The limit is identified by ht thick white islands. Those are not suppose to be there.
6. Take a spoon of oil and starting from a point on the circumference of the dosa, pour it along the circumference of the dosa.
7. Wait for a minute (amateurs are supposed to turn the gas flow to medium or low).
8. You can identify the time by seeing that there are no white islands on the upper side. They all turn to golden brown.
9. Poke in the square karandi in to the dosa and get the karandi under the dosa and the dosa entirely off the "kal". If it hinders, wait a few seconds more.
10. Turn the dosa updaide down and repeat process from six till nine.
11. When wait is over, poke in the square karandi again and get the dosa off the kal and on to the plate.
12. Done
